Booking information

The Welland International Flatwater Centre (WIFC), featuring multi-sport/dual channel/moving water/adjustable speed training tank. The training tank is designed to accommodate all experience levels in five flatwater disciplines: canoe, kayak, dragon boat, sweep rowing, and sculling. An adjoining 2,000 square foot, divisible, multi-use space is outfitted with free weights, cardio accessories, weight machines, and ergs to allow for full athlete training.

All one-hour rentals will be 50 minutes in length to allow for transition time between rentals.

Renting the facility entitles your organization the use of:

• The indoor paddle tank
  2,000 square foot room outfitted with fitness equipment
  Space can be utilized for practice debriefs or instructor led fitness group
  Fitness equipment: medicine balls, slam balls, dumbbells, skipping ropes and yoga mats
  Two squat racks, incline/decline benches
  Rowing, canoe and kayak ergs
• Athlete change rooms and shower facilities
• Storage shelves are available for storage of personal belongings

How to book:

The Welland Indoor Paddle Tank Request Form must be filled out and returned to paddletank@welland.ca. Once your request has been received, allow 5 business days to process your request.

Waivers/insurance:

You will be required to acquire Liability Insurance in the amount of $5 million (minimum) naming the City of Welland as additional insured. All participants are required to complete a Liability Waiver prior to use of the indoor paddle tank or equipment. A copy of the waiver will be provided to each user group upon booking confirmation of their first rental.

• December 25 and December 26)
• December 31 and January 1

Cancellation Policy

• 60+ days’ notice prior to the scheduled event, a refund less administration fee will be issued by cheque
• Between 60 to 30 days’ notice prior to the scheduled event — 50% refund, less administration fee
• Less than 30 days’ notice prior to the scheduled event — no refund

By submitting this form, the applicant agrees to the following: The applicant undertakes to indemnify the City of Welland, the Welland International Flatwater Centre (WIFC), and the Welland Indoor Paddle Tank against all claims, costs, and demands arising from negligence in connection with this booking, except where such claims are attributable to the negligence of the parties named above.

The applicant also agrees to comply with the regulations outlined in the accompanying documentation and to pay all applicable charges.

Submission of a completed booking form does not constitute proof of booking. All bookings will be confirmed through a separate response, which will serve as confirmation of the booking.
